Success of Free ECR Program Surpasses Both Casio & UBC’s Expectations

HAMPTON, NJ (10/13/09) – When Casio and United Bank Card first partnered to create an electronic cash register (ECR) with fully integrated credit card processing, there were high expectations on both sides but no one was certain of the outcome. Months of development resulted in UBC’s recently introduced free ECR program which has already seen astounding success.

Casio’s General Manager Larry Sampey exclaims, “We couldn’t be any happier with the success of the program and our relationship with United Bank Card. We provided the hardware and they have really stepped up with everything else. Some of the innovations they have developed for this program, such as the online keypad wizard, are truly remarkable and have never been seen in the cash register industry before.”

Sampey continues, “In addition to the operational successes that this program has accomplished, the sales numbers have been staggering as well. The quantity of orders we are receiving has really surpassed our highest expectations. Demand has been so high that we’re doing everything we can just to keep up with demand.”

United Bank Card CEO Jared Isaacman echoes Larry’s sentiments: “We are absolutely thrilled with the success of the program so far and we don’t expect the response to slow anytime soon. Our sales partners are just beginning to scratch the surface of this market. As I have pointed out before, there are millions of businesses out there with standalone credit card terminals that are now obsolete. There is no longer any reason to have separate systems; it is simply inefficient. This may very well be the most compelling marketing pitch that the ISO community has seen in the last 15 years.”
